All SKE Karate Clubs have now been awarded the Safeguarding Code of good practice. All of our clubs take you and your families welfare seriously and our instructors all attend regular safeguarding courses where best habits and practises are learned.

Self Defence Course

This is a special Self Defence Course designed by Sensei Gary James and based on our fundamental Shotokan Karate. Gary has extensive knowledge of what works and what doesn’t work in a real life situation, so this course is essential for all those who may be concerned about safety in everyday life today. Places will be limited as last years course was pretty full.

A great turn out for our special self defence course organised by Sensei Gary James at the Wanstead Club. There will be one more course to follow so don’t miss out next time.

On Monday 1st December at 8pm Sensei Roshan Dee and Sensei Gavin Kendall from the Barnet dojo will be visiting the Wanstead dojo to run a special course. They will be teaching one of Asai Senseis katas Roshu. This is open to all SKE Black & Brown belts, do not miss.—

Sensei John Gardiner Course

On Sunday 6th July we have a very special event. World Champion Sensei John Gardiner 4th Dan will be giving a course at our Enfield Dojo, so try to keep this date free.
John has taught extensively in the UK and abroad and he has built a reputation for strong and effective Shotokan Karate.
The course will be open to other associations and so you may well meet others and make new Karate friends.

ISKF Canada visits SKE

We are very proud to welcome and host some of our dear friends from ISKF Calgary to SKE.

Sensei Steve Brown who began his Karate journey at the Chingford Club, is returning to London to take part in the ISKF Championships in Beckton. Steves instructor in Canada is the renowned Sensei David Jones who also began his karate in England.

Steve is now a 4th Dan Instructor and ISKF Judge and he will be teaching a special reunion class at the Chingford Dojo on Wednesday 18th September from 6.30 to 8.00pm. All SKE and ISKF members are welcome, and the class is free of charge. Those of you who remember Steve from the old days, will I am sure, have a great time taking part.
