Sensei John Gardiner Course

On Sunday 6th July we have a very special event. World Champion Sensei John Gardiner 4th Dan will be giving a course at our Enfield Dojo, so try to keep this date free.
John has taught extensively in the UK and abroad and he has built a reputation for strong and effective Shotokan Karate.
The course will be open to other associations and so you may well meet others and make new Karate friends.
Details and times are on the poster below, so put this date into your diary and do not miss.

ISKF Canada visits SKE

We are very proud to welcome and host some of our dear friends from ISKF Calgary to SKE.

Sensei Steve Brown who began his Karate journey at the Chingford Club, is returning to London to take part in the ISKF Championships in Beckton. Steves instructor in Canada is the renowned Sensei David Jones who also began his karate in England.

Steve is now a 4th Dan Instructor and ISKF Judge and he will be teaching a special reunion class at the Chingford Dojo on Wednesday 18th September from 6.30 to 8.00pm. All SKE and ISKF members are welcome, and the class is free of charge. Those of you who remember Steve from the old days, will I am sure, have a great time taking part.

Shotocubs – Children’s Karate Classes

Staring in September on Mondays at 4.15 pm, a special new class for young 5/6 year olds to begin learning, confidence, coordination and fun. You will need to book in advance for this class as there will be limited spaces. Telephone 07776 437937 to book your child’s place.

It has been a few years since we have had the pleasure of Angelo Sensei visiting us, but now we are clear of Covid and the Covid restrictions, we have arranged a special course on Sunday 24th September. The course will be held at the Enfield Dojo at Southbury Leisure Centre and will be a chance to train with one of the top JKA instructors in the country. This will be a ‘Clubmark’ Course so bring your licence for registration. 12.00 midday start for Kyu Grades. 1.30pm start for Black and Brown Belts. Do not miss!

Congratulations to our new SKE 4th Dan Instructors Sensei Sarah Aghassi and Sensei Erik Thorpe. Both instructors have worked tirelessly during the last few years to improve themselves and help their students achieve success. Sensei Sarah teaches at the East Barnet and Copthall Clubs and Sensei Erik teaches at the Harlow and Epping Clubs.

2023 Karate ‘ClubSwap’

Sensei Gary James and Sensei Sarah Aghassi exchanged teaching duties at their respective Dojos in Enfield and East Barnet. A great time was had by the two instructors and all students enjoyed themselves, training with great enthusiasm and with different instructors.

Sensei Gary and Sensei Sarah are looking to continue this idea, so keep your eyes peeled for more exchanges. You never know you might find yourself enjoying one of our unique ‘ClubSwaps.’
